How we make our content
Verstia is built and operated by Manolyasoft. This page explains where our templates, calculators and guides come from, and what we do and don't claim about them.
Most of our templates are faithful reproductions of letters published by ACAS or GOV.UK. Before a template is published, its text is compared word for word against the official source by an automated check. The template page links to that source.
Where a template is based on an official model but some clauses have been rewritten or added by us, the template page says so and shows where each part comes from.
This check confirms the text matches its source. It is not a legal review, and it doesn't mean the source organisation has approved Verstia.
Calculator figures — rates, caps and thresholds — come from official sources such as GOV.UK, HMRC and legislation.gov.uk (and the IRS and canada.ca for our US and Canadian tax calculators). Each calculator shows the tax year or date its figures apply from.
UK statutory rates usually change each April. We update the calculators when the official figures change.
Our guides are written by the Verstia editorial team with the help of AI, working from official primary sources: GOV.UK, Acas and legislation.gov.uk. Each guide lists its sources, and every factual statement is checked against them before the guide is approved for publication.
If we can't confirm something from a primary source, we leave it out. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
Our guides are not reviewed by a lawyer, and the byline on every guide says so.
AI never writes the legal text of our templates. We use AI to help draft guides, which are then checked against their sources, and in Risk Radar, which explains a template's standard clause text in plain English. Risk Radar results are labelled as general information, and your personal details are never sent to the AI.
We don't claim that our content has been reviewed by a lawyer, or that it is approved by ACAS or the UK government. Nothing on Verstia is legal advice. For advice on a specific situation, speak to a qualified adviser or contact Acas.
Employment law changes often. If you think something on Verstia is wrong or out of date, email manolyasoft@gmail.com and we'll check it against the official source and correct it.
